Chatilus

Documentation

Quick start for the Windows early access build. More guides will grow here as the product matures.

Getting started

Download the latest Windows installer from GitHub Releases (.msi or .exe).
Install and launch Chatilus.
Click Import data and choose a source.
Browse conversations, search messages, review images, and use Timeline.

Import ChatGPT

In ChatGPT, request a data export, then download the ZIP when it is ready. In Chatilus, choose ChatGPT and select the ZIP or the unzipped folder. ChatGPT import is the primary stable path.

Other sources

Cursor and Gemini (Google Takeout) are in beta. Codex, Grok and DeepSeek are experimental — expect rough edges. Status labels in the importer reflect maturity, not model quality.

Search, gallery, Timeline

Full-text search runs locally against your SQLite library. The image gallery collects pictures from imported chats. Timeline groups activity by month so you can revisit work over time.

Export and organize

Favorite conversations or messages, add tags, and export a thread to Markdown when you need a portable copy.
